Honesty and integrity were demonstrated by Ana who found a $20 bill at school. She could have kept the money and no one would have ever know, but she did the right thing and turned it in. She is just one of many fine young people we have at Estes! She is pictured wearing the I'm Awesome necklace. Yes, she is AWESOME!

3rd Grade Science
Researching Penguins with Ms. Billings
Ms. B's first grade class kicked off their penguin
research project today. They broke into 2 groups. They did research online
through a safe search engine as well as reading non-fiction texts. Today, they focused on "How do penguins
move?" After recording their notes we had a share session where Ms. B
recorded all of our findings. We are doing our research so we can write our
very own non-fiction book. It's going to have lots of features of a non-fiction
text, even a glossary and table of contents.

You never know where he could be! He might just end up in classroom for the day. The elf will also be here Thursday night for the K and 1 sing along, so bring your cameras and get your picture taken with the elf.

Our first grade students went to see The Teacher from the Black Lagoon at the River Park recently. Before the play and after the play the students did various activities to activate their schema of the book and play. Here are a few pics to show what they were doing.
