Egg Drop Soup?

Mrs. Lancaster, Mrs. Huskisson and Ms. Vincent challenged their students to design a device that would protect an egg from a fall from the roof of Estes. Here we have some pics of the design process and the egg fall.

Pete the Cat at Estes

If you visited Estes during the first week of school you might have seen some little paw prints on the floor. Don't worry we didn't have juvenile deliquent cats break into the school and run the hallways with paint on their paws. No, we had a special visitor named Pete the Cat come visit Estes. Our Kindergarten students went looking for Pete and read all about him. In the pictures above and to the side you will see Mrs. Manqueros class making their very own Pete the Cat.

In the picture below Mrs. Harralson's class learned how to lace shoes and colored their string with Science droppers.

Way to Go, Khilan

Khilan in Mrs. McKenzie's room was flexing some brain power when I was observing her class. Khilan is just one of many students at Estes who are flexing their brain muscles to help our school become the best in the state!

Blogs at Estes

We have a few teachers at Estes that are keeping parents informed of what is happening in their classrooms. Mr. Sorce and Mrs. Harralson are two of the teachers using blogs and you can follow them by clicking on the links below.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our back to school Luau. Thank you to Mrs. Williams and her parents for donating the delicious hot dogs for our Luau. We hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to having more family fun throughout the year.

Teachers Love Getting Free Items

Mrs. Ruth's 3rd grade class enjoyed receiving free lunch totes filled with school supplies! Thank you local Thirty One sales representative, Jill Mcguiness for your generous donation!

2.  Todd Frazier hit 14 home runs in the first round, 10 in the second round and 15 in his final round. What is the total number of home runs he hit?

3. Five players have hit two home runs in an all star game. How many home runs does that equal?

4. Billy Hamilton has 44 stolen bases while Dee Gordon has 33 stolen bases. How many more stolen bases does Dee Gordon need to tie Billy Hamilton?

5.  Bryce Harper has hit 26 home runs this year. If he hits 2 home runs a week for the next 8 weeks, how many total home runs will he have?

6. Prince Fielder has 114 hits this year and Mike Trout has 101 hits. How many hit do they have combined?

7. How many more hits do they need to get to 500?

8. Josh Donaldson has been to the plate 355 plate times this year. If you double that number, what would it be?

9. Kyle Kendrick has give up 23 home runs this year, while Mike Leake has only given up 14 home runs. How many more home runs would they have to give up to reach 100 home runs?
