Chorus Rocks the RiverPark!

Mrs. Etienne and the Estes Chorus performed at the RiverPark and did an outstanding job! We are so proud of all the hard work our talented singers put into their performance. Thank you goes out to Mrs. Etienne for the wonderful job of directing our chorus.
We might have the next winners of The Voice and American Idol right here at Estes!

MAP Party

Students who met their individual goal on the winter MAP test were treated to a game of freeze tag.  Mrs. Oller and Mr. Williams whipped up a batch of their mouth watering popcorn for the students and also gave them a special "Hug" drink. Mr. Williams joined in on the game of freeze tag and luckily didn't have a heart attack.

We are so proud of the hard work our students are putting forth here at Estes.

That's Not Counting By Ten-Is It?

The days of counting by ten like this -10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 and 100 are over. Take a look at this class counting by ten but starting at number 13. Did I mention they are in Kindergarten? The future is very bright at Estes! Look out Owensboro-The Bulldogs are here!

Please Don't Use the "R" Word

This week Shelly from the Wendell Foster campus came and spoke to our second graders and fourth graders about not using the "R" word. Shelly also talked about what it is to live life with cerebral palsy and how she doesn't let her condition slow her down. Shelly might be confined to a wheelchair, but the wheelchair doesn't confine who she is. Shelly holds down a job and makes parts for window blinds. During her discussions with our students she gave advice to them about how to treat people with disabilities, and how it feels to be called the "R" word.
I want to tell Shelly thank you because she is an inspiration to me. When I get down on things I am going to think about how positive Shelly is and she doesn't let anything stop her.

Estes Sends Off the OHS Basketball Players

Today the Estes School Community sent off the OHS boys basketball team to Rupp Arena. We are so proud of the basketball team and all of the hard work they have put in to get to where they are today! Boys and girls of Estes-Hard work pays off! Mr. Williams is pictured with a few former academic all American first grade students he had a Cravens.

Adjective Man Visits First Grade

Adjective Man visited the first grade students at Estes Elementary. He told the students of how his planet Adjectonia was being destroyed by the lack of students using adjectives in their sentences. Students then told Adjective Man all that they knew about adjectives and how they make sentences more vibrant. The student then took the pledge to use more adjectives in their sentences, so that Adjectonia would not end up like the planet Krypton!
