We hope everyone had a chance to Sharpen the Saw over spring break. It is hard to believe that in six weeks the end of the school year will be upon us.
Please continue to get your children to school and on time. We have been in last place in our district attendance race for the last 4 months. I would like to challenge our students to come to school everyday and go from last place to first place! Come on Bulldogs-WE CAN DO THIS!
Your children will also be taking several important assessments in the coming weeks. All students will be taking the MAP test. If you are new to our school, the MAP test measures the performance of your child with every other student in the nation that takes the test. Our third and fourth grade students will not only take the MAP test, but they will also be taking the KPREP test. The KPREP test is the biggest test your child will take at Estes. Last year we scored the best we have ever scored for the KPREP test. Our third graders last year helped us go from the bottom of the mountain to a fourth way up the mountain. We are counting on them along with our current third graders to help us reach the top of the mountain.
I will give you testing tips in the upcoming blog posts. Two things that you can do right now to help your child is to make sure they are doing their homework and getting enough sleep every night.
I want to say thank you to all of our parents out in Bulldog Nation that are helping your children become responsible and respectful students. We are seeing a lot of our students showing GRIT and a Growth mindset at school. If we continue to work together, your children are going to make our community, city, state and nation a better place.
Have an AMAZING WEEK!
