A Gritty Family

The story below is something that shows the power of children. This story focuses on a student who wants to learn and another student that wants to help students learn. We are so lucky to have both students at Estes!
Alica Francisco who is in Mrs. Alley's kindergarten class was struggling to learn her sight words at home because of a language barrier. She could have easily given up and used her home situation as an excuse for not learning. Did she give up? No, she didn't! She went to her 1st grade cousin who also attends Estes for help. Aracelli Francisco in Mrs. Lanham's room has been helping Alica learn her words at home. Aracelli has helped Alica learn 75 words! These are the types of students that we need not only at Estes but in the world because they show GRIT and a willingness to learn and teach!
