An All*Star of a Challenge

It is no secret that I love baseball and the Cincinnati Reds, so this challenge is all about the All Star game.

Questions 1-10 are for second through 4th grade.

Research Question?
1.  Why is Cincinnati referred to as the Queen City?

2.  Todd Frazier hit 14 home runs in the first round, 10 in the second round and 15 in his final round. What is the total number of home runs he hit?

3. Five players have hit two home runs in an all star game. How many home runs does that equal?

4. Billy Hamilton has 44 stolen bases while Dee Gordon has 33 stolen bases. How many more stolen bases does Dee Gordon need to tie Billy Hamilton?

5.  Bryce Harper has hit 26 home runs this year. If he hits 2 home runs a week for the next 8 weeks, how many total home runs will he have?

6. Prince Fielder has 114 hits this year and Mike Trout has 101 hits. How many hit do they have combined?

7. How many more hits do they need to get to 500?

8. Josh Donaldson has been to the plate 355 plate times this year. If you double that number, what would it be?

9. Kyle Kendrick has give up 23 home runs this year, while Mike Leake has only given up 14 home runs. How many more home runs would they have to give up to reach 100 home runs?

10. Buster Posey is batting 314. If he wants to bat 400, how many more points does he need to get to reach 400?

1. Kevin Kiermaier has 7 triples this year. How many more triples does he need to get to 10 triples?

2.  Martin Maldonado has 6 errors this year and so does Jonathan Lucroy. How many errors do they have in all?

3. Gerrit Cole has won 13 games this year. How many more games does he need to win to get to 20 wins?

4. Matt Garza has lost 10 games this year and Jon Lester has lost 8 games. If you combined their losses what would that number be?

5. Craig Kimbrel has 23 saves while Mark Melancon has 29 saves. How many more saves does Craig Kimbrel need to reach Mark Melancon?
