The Mysteries of Kindergarten

Mrs. Harralson’s class did a lot of exploring this week.  In Science, the students used their senses exploring dirt and planted sunflower seeds.  It takes water and sun for growth.  Their amazing word was germination.  The nugget of the day:  sunflowers turn wherever the sun is in the sky.  Each child will be tracking the growth of their sunflower seed in the month of September.
During writing this week, super writers turned their writing paper into a book.  With the help of a peanut butter and jelly partner, students learned that writers need a helper.  Each student shared their work with their partner, sharing their book about their favorite television show.

Finally, all of the class was on white or above on What’s Up Wednesday.  They celebrated with sidewalk chalk. Mrs. Harralson watched her students write words and the letter of the day, letter Oo.
