Snow Writing

Have you ever dreamed of creating your own Frosty the Snowman? Have you ever wondered what snowmen and snow women do when you go to sleep? Where do the snow people go when they melt? Those are some of the questions I want you to answer through a creative writing project. I would love this to be a family project that will allow parents and children to work together. If you can go out and build a snowman and take a picture I would love to see the snowman. Now that you have made the snowman here is where the writing comes in.

I would like for you to write a short story about how you became a snowman. You can use the following questions to guide your writing. Remember to start sentences with a capital letter and use a period at the end of the sentence.

Describe the weather outside and what you were doing the day you turned into a snowman.
Describe what caused you to turn into a snowman.
What was the first thing you did you did when you realized you were a snow child?
Who knows about you being a snowman?
Where do you live? Do you go back inside or do you stay outside?
What do you do during the day? What about night?
Finish the story-do you turn back or stay a snowman

If you bring your story to your teacher, you will earn a star-up! If you bring a picture of the snowman you created with your family along with the story you will earn two stars-up!
Have fun and enjoy the snow!
