The Harralson Blog

This week we learned the tail letters in the alphabet.  We used biscuit dough to create the letter “q”.  The kids thought I was crazy when I told them I had to spray their hands with cooking spray (of course they loved it)!  Every day we do a number talk and practice writing our numbers to 5.  Here are a few little rhymes that we incorporate to help with remembering how to write our numbers:
1 – a stick down
2 – around and down and across the ground
3 – backwards c, backwards c, that’s how we make a three
4 – down and over, and down some more, that’s the way we make a four
5 – down, with a big, fat belly, with his hat he looks so silly
Just a reminder of a few events coming up that you won’t want to miss out on:
September 16th – Picture Day
September 19th – Technology Night (free dinner 5:30pm to 6:30pm)
September 20th – Pajama Day (wear your pajamas to school – I already have my Olaf jammies prepared)
Finally, STEAM your engines (our science after school club) starts this Wednesday, September 14th.  We will be learning about seed germination and planting seeds for our very own garden!
